Weslo Crosswalk 5.2T Treadmill is perfect for those who need only a basic exercise machine at a low price. It has a unique feature named Crosswalk Upper Body Resistance arms offering full-body workout and is not normally seen in treadmills. Plus, it offers some other great features too for the price.

However, the company doesn’t make it clear that the treadmill starts without having to pay a monthly iFit subscription of $15, which is confusing and misleading for many buyers. The fact is that for starting the machine, users don’t have to pay anything and the machine runs pretty nicely.

Assembling the Weslo Crosswalk 5.2T is pretty easy. The manual contains 9 assembly steps which are very detailed and clear. But if users don’t understand them, it also provides a link to an assembly video that walks them through the process.

It also provides a contact number if users want to hire an authorized service technician to assemble the machine. The user manual recommends two persons to conduct the assembly which usually takes around 45 minutes.


The Weslo Crosswalk 5.2T has a 2.25 HP Impulse O motor which is powerful yet quiet.

SpaceSaver Folding Design

The Weslo Crosswalk 5.2T comes with a SpaceSaver folding design so that users can fold the machine away after the exercise for convenient storage.


Transportation Wheels

The 5.2T comes with transportation wheels to make it easy for users to move the machine from one room to another or for storage.


The console of the Weslo Crosswalk 5.2T features a large LCD display that shows important workout metrics including the track, distance, time, speed, calories burned, and heart rate.

The console is pretty simple to use. In the display, the track represents a distance of ¼ mile (400 m). As users walk or run, the metrics around the track will be displayed in succession till the whole track appears. Then the track will disappear and the metrics will again start appearing in succession.

The number at the center of the track shows the number of laps the user has completed. Users should note that the Time shown on the display when they’ve selected the Manual Mode is the “elapsed time”, whereas if they’ve selected a preset program, it is the time remaining in the workout.

The distance and speed can be seen in miles or kilometers as per the user’s choice. The display is in the topmost position on the console. Below the display, firstly there are two buttons, viz. Workout Select and Priority Display, flanking which there are the preset programs for Weight Loss and Performance on the left and right side respectively.

Below this, there are buttons of Start, Stop and Speed. The Pulse Rate Sensor is in the bottom left corner. In the lowest position, there is the safety key. To reset the display, users should press the Stop button, remove the safety key and then reinsert the key.


Priority Display: The upper display is the Priority Display which can show the elapsed time, the distance user has walked or run, the speed of the walking belt, or the approximate number of calories the user has burned. Users can press the Priority Display button repeatedly until they can see the information they’re most interested in. Users should note that while the information is displayed in the Priority Display, the same information won’t be displayed in the lower-left or right display.

Heart Rate: To measure the heart rate, users should stand still on the foot rails (on the sides of the running belt) and press their thumb on the pulse rate sensor (at least for 15 seconds, neither too hard nor too light). When the pulse is detected, a heart-shaped sign will appear on the lower right display (where the speed or calories are displayed) and after a few moments, the heart rate will be displayed.

Preset Workout Programs

The console of the 5.2T comes with 4 preset workout programs: 2 for weight loss and 2 for performance.

To add to the variety of the workout, with an iFit membership, users can browse through over 16,000 workouts and choose among the innumerable beautiful trails from across the world and world-class personal trainers.


The Weslo Crosswalk 5.2T offers a decent range of speed i.e. from 1 to 10 mph. When users select the Manual Mode they can change the speed from the console with the upper and lower arrow buttons.

They can select the Manual Mode by inserting the safety key (& the display will be lit up). The speed will change at the increment of 0.1 mph each time when users press the arrow keys. If users keep the key pressed, the speed will change by 0.5 mph.

If they select one of the 4 preset workout programs, the speed will be automatically adjusted according to the program selected. If users want to change to Manual Mode from a preset program, they can do so by pressing the Workout Select button repeatedly until all metrics on the display come to zeros.


The Crosswalk 5.2T comes with two incline levels to allow users to benefit from different intensities of workout and work various muscles of the lower body.

Resistance Arms

A unique feature of the Weslo Crosswalk 5.2T is the Crosswalk Upper Body Resistance arms with which users can work the muscles of arms, shoulders, and back. What’s more, users can even change the intensity of the upper body workout by changing the resistance of the Resistance Arms with the resistance knobs placed on their lower ends.

By turning the knobs clockwise, they can increase the resistance and by turning them counterclockwise, they can reduce the resistance. As compared to other treadmills on the market which offer only walking and running exercises, and usually don’t work upper body muscles, these resistance arms of the 5.2T nicely contribute to giving the user a full-body workout.

The Resistance Arms on the 5.2T are especially useful during walking exercise because while users run, their arms pump and get a workout, but when they walk on the machine, their arms just swing naturally on their sides and don’t get an intense workout. The Resistance Arms make sure users’ arms, shoulders, and back get exercise even during the walking exercise.

Pulse Rate Sensor

Another unique feature of the 5.2T is the pulse rate sensor which is positioned on the console in its left bottom corner. Users have to press their thumb against the sensor so as to monitor their heart rate.

Running Deck

The running deck of the 5.2T measures 50” x 16” which is quite spacious. It supports users weighing up to 250 lbs.

The running surface features a patented Comfort Cell cushioning that helps absorb the impact and thus protects users’ joints. Thus walking or running on the 5.2T is much more comfortable than that on outdoor asphalt or concrete surfaces.

Users can start the running belt by pressing the Start button or Speed Increase button. The belt will start moving at 1 mph and then users can change the speed as per their requirement.

Safety Key

The 5.2T comes with a Safety Key. Users have to attach the clip to their clothes. In case of an accidental fall or another emergency, the clip will get detached from the key and the machine will stop.


The 5.2T comes with a 90-day warranty on parts and labor. To avail of this warranty, users must register their product within 30 days of the purchase date.

Bottom Line

The Weslo Crosswalk 5.2T Treadmill is fine for those who want to get a full-body workout from a treadmill but don’t want to invest a lot of money and are fine with a not-so-strong construction and a short warranty.

The Crosswalk Upper Body Resistance arms are by far the best feature of this treadmill and set it apart from other treadmills by providing workout to users’ back, shoulders and arms, and thus a full-body workout.

Another notable feature is the patented Comfort Cell cushioning which provides excellent protection to users’ joints by reducing the impact. The 2.25 HP Impulse O motor is quite powerful and the foldable design saves valuable space in users’ home.

However, despite having many nice features, due to the lightweight construction, the treadmill is only good for light to medium walking and running exercise at home when exercising outdoors is not possible, and of course for warm-up and recovery training, although the company claims that it is useful for building cardiovascular health and various muscles, and for weight loss.

But it should also be admitted that it provides great value for the money being low-priced.
