Features of ProForm Pro 2000 PFTL13113 Treadmill

Assembly

The assembly of the ProForm Pro 2000 is quite easy. But it’s problematic because the machine being heavy, needs two or more people for transport, unpacking and several steps in the assembly process.

The deck comes readily assembled and attached to the front base. Users have to attach wheels, connect the posts to the frame, pass wires through the handlebar posts, attach the dashboard to the console, and then console to the frame. The users’ manual has all the instructions and all the tools needed for the assembly are included. With two or more people working, the assembly process shouldn’t take more than 45 minutes.

Frame

The frame of the ProForm Pro 2000 is mostly made of steel but has many solid plastic parts as well. The rear base comes with two feet, furnished with leveling rubber caps that provide optimum stability. The front base directly rests on the floor. Also, the metallic parts on sides of the unit have plastic covers, which offer a more aesthetic look.

Motor

The ProForm Pro 2000 is powered by a 3.5 CHP Mach Z Commercial Pro industrial-grade motor, designed for prolonged use, even if it’s used at the maximum speed. Being a truly continuous duty power motor, it won’t overheat or lose or skip speed, even if the user is close to the maximum weight limit, and performing high-intensity exercises.

Console

The console of the ProForm Pro 2000 features a 7-inch blue backlit display with excellent visibility even in poor light conditions. It displays workout stats like time, distance, speed, incline, pulse and calories. It also provides goal setting functions for time, speed and calories. Another excellent feature of the console, especially for professional runners, is the trail function which shows distance in laps of ¼ mile (400 m).

proform 2000 treadmill pftl13113 console

Direct keys for some of the built-in workout programs are provided on the console, along with the direct keys for incline and speed. However, incline and speed can be adjusted gradually via the arrow keys.

If users need to hold on their workout, they can use the Start and Pause buttons, without having to reset any current workout data. A safety key function is also available on the dashboard.

Heart Rate Monitoring

The ProForm Pro 2000 has EKG grip sensors fitted in the main bar of the console holding which users can monitor their heart rate. Alternatively, the unit also includes a Polar HR chest strap with which too users can monitor their heart rate.

Built-in Workout Programs

The console of the ProForm Pro 2000 provides as many as 32 built-in workout programs. Based on the selected program, users can focus on strength, cardio, muscle toning, stamina development or weight loss.

However, users also are free to use manual mode and design their own workout, by adjusting speed and incline they want.

iFit Connectivity

Another excellent feature of the ProForm Pro 2000 PFTL13113 is its connectivity to iFit Live. It lets users connect to iFit.com and import virtually any workout program from the online database, customize their own training programs, and analyze their exercise data on a superior level.

iFit offers users an ability to select any track from the world from Google Maps, and the treadmill will automatically adjust the incline as per that track. What’s more, users can also compare their training data with other members and even participate in online competitions.

Users can connect the iFit module to their tablet or laptop wirelessly. But, it’s an optional purchase, at the cost of $99. However with its purchase, users can benefit from one-year free iFit membership.

Speed

The speed range offered by the treadmill is from 1 to 12 mph, and can be increased in increments of 0.1 mph. With the QuickSpeed Control, changing speeds is super easy.

Running Deck

The running deck of the ProForm Pro 2000 being 60” long and 22” wide, provides sufficient running space for users up to 6’7” (200cm). Although it’s a one-ply belt, it’s still a commercial-grade belt and is tested for one million cycles at double the user weight, before being fitted to the treadmill.

It is equipped with the ProShox cushioning system which distributes the impact evenly, thus absorbing a large amount of shock on users’ feet, ankles and knees. Thus, users feel far more comfortable to run on this treadmill than to run on an outdoor concrete or asphalt surface, and so can exercise of longer and need significantly less recovery time.

Foldable Design with EasyLift Assist Mechanism

The running deck of the machine can be folded easily, thanks to the EasyLift assist mechanism. Thus after exercise, the treadmill can be stored away. The unit measures around 71” (180 cm) in height, around 45” (114 cm) in length and less than 40” (101.6 cm) in depth.

The deck doesn’t actually fold in complete vertical position, but remains at an angle of around 70°. Thus in the folded position, the unit does take up quite some space, with a 39.5″W x 80″L (100 x 203 cm) of footprint.

The deck has foot rails made of hard plastic and offer a generous footrest space. Its powering rollers are 2.5-inch precision-machined, balanced and non-flex, and thus minimize tension and wear and tear.

The unit also provides a decline up to -3%. With both the incline and decline, this treadmill greatly increases training possibilities. Here too Quick Incline Control and Quick Decline Control are provided for easy adjustments.

Also, users should note that at 0% incline, the platform of the machine elevates to up to 10″ (25.4 cm) from the floor and at maximum incline, the front part is elevated to around 16″ (40 cm) from the floor. Knowing this, users can have an idea whether they can use this machine in their home or in a particular room.

Portable

The ProForm Pro 2000 can be easily relocated, thanks to the transportation wheels provided.

Add-ons

The ProForm Pro 2000 has a quite spacious dashboard having two large compartments where users can place water bottles or accessories. The dashboard also has a quite long tablet holder at its center, which facilitates users to avail their iFit workouts or just their favorite streams to stay entertained while exercising.

What’s more, a 5-compartment tray also has been provided attached to the main handlebar posts, beneath the main dashboard.

The dashboard also has a sound system integrated in it, together with a port for iPod or MP3 player.
A 2-speed, built-in, dual CoolAire fan has also been provided to keep users cool during workout.

Electrical Requirements

The unit needs a regular 120V circuit. It also comes with a standard power cord and grounding pin, for US-specific outlets. The power cord plugs into the unit at its front base.

An ON/OFF switch function is also provided. Using a surge suppressor is recommended; but it’s not included.

Noise Level

The ProForm Pro 2000 is pretty quiet. Its level of noise at the 7-8 levels of speed or even more doesn’t interfere with the sound of TV or music. Only if users increase the speed, their cadence will intensify and more noise can be produced from each foot strike.

Warranty

The ProForm Pro 2000 comes with a lifetime warranty on frame and motor, 5-year warranty of parts, and a 2-year warranty on labor. However, to avail this warranty, users should register their product with ProForm within 30 days of purchase.

Maintenance

The tread belt of the ProForm Pro 2000 will need regular lubrication. Although the company mentions that it’s embedded with high-performance lubricant, it will need lubrication after several hundreds of hours of use. Only the lubricant by ProForm should be used.

Also, the belt may need to be tightened from time to time and the unit should be regularly cleaned and be protected from any spills.
