Seat height can be easily adjusted to fit users between 5’3” and 6’1” (~160 - 186 cm).
Tension system is based on magnetic resistance, providing 8 different levels of workout levels. Thanks to magnetic resistance, unit is rather quiet when in use - precision balanced flywheel and V-belt drive provide smooth and quiet operation that doesn't interfere with watching TV or listening to the music. On the other hand, don't expect to ride this bike while kids are sleeping in the same room - one can try even than, but not recommended :)
Leg stabilizers are wide enough to provide stable workout experience, but still narrow enough to allow unit to be easily stored when not in use.
Bike's console features large LCD panel (W x H 3.3 x 1.5 inches, 8.4 x 3.8 cm) which shows covered distance, calories burned during exercise, elapsed time, cycling speed, scan and heart rate monitor.
Heart rate monitor sensors are placed in the handles - unit doesn't support wireless or Bluetooth chest strap heart rate monitor, but this is exercise bike and during the exercise hands are generally most of the time on the handles.
Foot pedals are large and come safety straps, allowing the user to position the feet firmly and cycle without issues with feet getting off the pedals accidentally.
When unit arrives, some assembly required before it can be used. Assembly is not difficult, just be sure to follow the steps in the instructions/manual.
Unit's assembled dimensions are (L x W x H) 31 x 19 x 46 inches (~79 x 49 x 117 cm) and it weighs 39 pounds (slightly less than 18 kg).
To operate, unit requires 2 AA batteries, which are included. Unit comes with 1-year limited warranty - very acceptable warranty for the unit in this price range.
Few more notes:
- People shorter than 5'2" could find this bike little bit harder to use. Seat is moveable, but only up and down - it can not tilt. Nonetheless, the seat is padded and comfortable.
- Some people find resistance to be not gradual enough. Of course, for the price you pay, this is great bike, but if you are used to commercial gym exercise bikes, you are going to be little bit disappointed (don't forget that pro exercise bikes cost much more).
- Bike is easily foldable, maybe even too easy, so watch your fingers - actually some people like very much speed at which this bike folds. And when it folds, it is very compact.
- Accuracy of calculated and measured data is sometimes disputed - personally, these data should be used only as comparison between exercises.
Long story short - Exerpeutic Folding Magnetic Upright Bike with Pulse is great, durable and very popular home exercise bike, and it comes at great price - just don't expect pro exercise bike quality and features.
