Features of Sunny Health & Fitness Premium Cardio Climber Stepping Elliptical Machine - SF-E3919

Assembly

Assembly of the SF-E3919 is pretty easy as the base body, drive, and resistance system come pre-assembled.

Users have to first attach the front and rear stabilizers to the main frame, then the upright post, handlebars, pedals, bottle holder, and console. Then they should install the 2AA batteries (included) in the console.

And they are good to go! The user manual contains detailed assembly instructions and schematics, and all the necessary tools are included in the package. But the assembly can take around 2 hours.

Frame

The SF-E3919 has a heavy-duty steel frame which eliminates the risk of wobbling or falls.

Thus, the user can be comfortable and confident while exercising. The entire steel tubing of the frame is coated with a paint finish resistant to corrosion and chipping.

The chassis of the SF-E3919 is a one-piece element with the rail system welded to the frame. This increases the sturdiness of the frame. For added security, the rail bars have stainless steel covers.

However, the two base bars and console timbers are attached to the main body through nuts and bolts.

Compact Size

Like most steppers, the SF-E3919 has a quite small footprint with a length of only 44” (112 cm) and a width of only 25” (63 cm).

Thus, it can fit comfortably in a small room. However, a clearance of 2 feet from all sides of the machine is recommended for safe and easy access and operation.

Also, since the maximum pedal step height is 19.64 inches (49.88 cm), the height of the ceiling should be at least 20” (51 cm) more than the user’s height.

Stability

The SF-E3919 is fairly heavy, weighing 95 lbs. (43 kg). But this weight makes the machine stable. Plus, the rear base bar features adjustable levelers, which help users correctly level and stabilize the machine on any sort of floor.

Maximum User Weight Capacity

Users need not worry about toppling or falling off the machine because the heavy-duty steel frame can comfortably bear 260 lbs. (118 kg). Thus, most users can perform prolonged workout sessions.

features

Versatility

The SF-E3919 offers unmatched versatility because it combines stepping and striding in one intense movement. Plus, its full-motion handlebars offer an upper-body workout.

Portable

The SF-E3919 comes with transport wheels integrated on the front base bar so that users can move the machine anywhere they want for exercising or for storage after exercise.

9-inch Vertical Climb and 5-inch Horizontal Stride

With the SF-E3919, users can climb to a vertical height of 9 inches (22.86 cm) and take horizontal strides of 5 inches (12.7 cm). Users glide along the overall 10-inch (25 cm) stride length.

Thus, they can benefit from climbing and walking exercises simultaneously. The maximum pedal height is 19.64 inches (49.88 cm), and the minimum is 11.02 inches (28 cm).

Handlebars

The SF-E3919 features two sets of handlebars – one is fixed and is attached to the console mast, and the other is moving and is attached to the main upright bar and pedal bars. The fixed handlebars integrate EKG sensors for heart rate monitoring. Both the handlebars have firm, cushioned, rubberized grips. The moving handlebars have ball grips at their tips.

Console

The SF-E3919 features a high-performance console with its LED backlit screen divided into multiple sections and keeps a record of workout metrics like distance, time, speed, RPM, calories burned, and pulse.

Each metric, except speed and RPM, has its own window at the bottom of the screen.

Users can see any of the metrics they want on the larger screen section too. Units of the metrics are imperial (English). The console also has a built-in calendar, clock, thermometer, scan and calculators for BMI and body fat, and also a Recovery function to activate the heart rate recovery function after pulse signal.

Thus, a user can check whether they are being benefited from climbing or an elliptical machine. By monitoring this, they can design their workout strategies better.

Although the console doesn’t offer any preset workout program, it does feature goal setting for time, distance, calories, and pulse. Thus, if a user sets a goal of these metrics, the metrics will be displayed on the screen until the user reaches their set value. In the case of pulse setting, the console would produce a beeping sound when the set value is reached.

The console runs on 2 1.5V UM or AA batteries which are included.

Pedals

The pedals of the SF-E3919 are oversized to accommodate feet of most sizes. They have a non-slip textured surface and internal guards for safe footing.

Drive and Resistance

The SF-E3919 features a manual magnetic resistance system. Hence, it doesn’t require an outside power supply, nor does it feature an adapter. Also, the resistance cannot be changed from the console.

The resistance system of the SF-E3919 consists of a magnetic brake attached to the tension knob located on the main upright bar via a steel cable. When the user turns the knob clockwise, the brake moves in the direction of the flywheel, and the resistance increases, whereas to reduce the tension, the user has to move the knob counter-clockwise.

The SF-E3919 features eight resistance levels, with the first level providing very little resistance, perfect for recovery training. The 8th level provides significantly high resistance, ideal for building muscles and stamina, burning calories, and losing weight.

The internal flywheel of the SF-E3919 weighs 13 lbs. (5.9 kg) which is fair for in-home exercise equipment. This type of flywheel makes the pedaling movement smooth and quiet because the belt power produces less vibration, and users need not worry about internal lubrication.

Low Noise

The SF-E3919 is almost noiseless and works smoothly due to its belt-driven mechanism. Its 14 lbs. inertia-ready flywheel facilitates smooth climbs and strides. Thus, users can exercise early in the morning without waking other family members or neighbors, or while watching TV, etc.

Add-ons

The SF-E3919 offers a device holder as an add-on. It’s located above the console, and a device placed on the holder won’t cover the screen.

The other add-on is a bottle holder so users can keep themselves hydrated during the exercise.

Another noteworthy add-on provided with the SF-E3919 is an HRC sticker which is located on the top section of the LED screen. It shows the heart rate zones users should maintain depending on their age to gain maximum cardio output, fat burn, etc. Normally, such a table is included in the user manual. But since it’s on the screen of the SF-E3919, the user can refer to it anytime during the workout.

Maintenance

The SF-E3919 needs minimal maintenance. Users just have to wipe the unit with a soft, clean, damp cloth to keep it clean after each use and lubricate the joints. They have to make sure all the bolts and parts are tightened every week. Internal lubrication is not required.
