Jogging Music
Jogging and music were made for one another. The exhiliration I feel when I am jogging and listening to my favorite jogging music is just fantastic. I feel incredibly powerful and that I could run forever.
I remember when I used to jog with my Sony Walkman and that meant I could only play one cassette the whole time. At the time it seemed fantastic, but compared to the iPods and mp3 players of today, it was positively stoneage!
Nowadays the choices are great. You can even find an iPod designed for running through a collabortive effort by Apple and Nike.
Jogging headphones
And make sure you get a good pair of jogging headphones. This will provide you with a more comfortable and secure feeling. The last thing you want is your headphones falling off during your run!
If you are looking at a jogging stroller, look for ones like the jeep jogging strollers that come places to hook in youripod so you and your baby can listen to jogging music.
When it comes to music, think about how the songs you select to download relate to your running. It's good to have some soothing music for when you are cruising along. And at the same time, you'll also want some powerful music with a great beat to help you really stretch things out.
If you're feeling rushed, maybe a little classical music will calm you and take you to a romantic place, away from the noise, crowds, everyday worries and stress. Nights in the Gardens of Spain comes to mind. Ah! Handel's Messiah might be just the thing on a brisk winters' day.
Maybe you're trying to break your own record and want to push hard today. The theme from Chariots of Fire should keep you competitive.
For some of us of a certain age, the 1960's and 1970's rocked! This genre of jogging music includes Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane, the Grateful Dead, Creedence Clearwater and the Allman Brothers. Good any day of the year. The Beatles, the Stones, the Doors, Pink Floyd, ELO, Patti Smith, Frampton and Rod Stewart are all guaranteed to keep you moving.
Is today gray and rainy? Do you just need to get the adrenaline going? Some gym-trainer heavy-beat music can get your blood moving. Pop music artists can be your best friend for this situation. Some Madonna, BT (with a song like “Superfabulous” you'll want to run all day long!), Olivia Newton John, Fergie, Black Eyed Peas, Nine Inch Nails, Randall Brambrett, Soundgarden, Phil Brown, Peter Luts, Blue Man Group or the Chemical Brothers are worthy of investigation.
The great thing about today's music players is that you can donwload tons of songs onto them. So there's no excuse for not having the jogging music on it that's going to help you have a great run.
