Change up your Workout Routine with a Swimming Exercise
Swimming is one of the best exercises you can do to keep in shape. And it doesn't matter what age you are. At our local pool, we have a lady in her seventies who never misses her daily swimming exercise.
Swimming is it a great cardiovascular workout, and it's also great for burning fat. My son swam year round for four years and was very proud of his six pack stomach. After a year away from swimming, it turned into a two pack!
Swimming exercise is one of the few that offers a total body workout. Arms, legs, even your core all get a great workout. Also, swimming exercise is something you can do year round. Indoors in the winter and outdoors in the summer.
An added benefit is that if you ever decide to do a mini-triathlon, of which there are many these days, then you will be prepared for the hardest part, namely the swimming.
To get started, join a local swiming club if you already know how to swim. Be sure to workout four or five days a week and swim laps. As with any aerobic or fat buring exercise, you're going to have to do it this oftent and for thirty plus minutes each time in order to shed the fat.
Use proper form and tackle as many laps as you can handle. As time passes, your speed will increase, and so will your number of laps. In the process, you will be achieving a great overall body workout with your swimming exercise. It tones the muscles and burns the fat.
If you're not a good swimmer, take a couple of lessons. Then just keep swimming! And you'll find plenty of clubs to join. For example, most swim clubs have masters programs for older swimmers. So if it's companionship you want to go with your swimming exercise, join one of these clubs.
What's also nice about swimming is that it's relatively inexpensive. All you need is a swimsuit and a pair of goggles.
